Ever since I was a little girl I dreamt of the day I would find my prince charming, get married, and start a family. You can read my blog post for the full scope about Finding Love here.
Fast forward to the winter of 2024. I am engaged to the love of my life, a few months deep into wedding planning, and I find out we are pregnant. Surprise, Surprise! As the saying goes…when it rains, it pours. We knew we wanted to start a family shortly after the wedding so we took this as a BLESSING – that it’s meant to be. The best part is we kept this little bundle of joy a complete secret until the wedding day (minus our parents, whom we shared the news with for obvious reasons haha). Our wedding was everything I dreamt of and more. I planned the whole thing. It was Western themed, intimate, and chic – and took place in the Summer on our ranch in Idaho. Seeing our family and friends sharing our love and celebrating our baby news was magical.

I was six months pregnant the day of my wedding and never felt more beautiful. Knowing our baby was there with us, in my belly, made it that much more special. It’s everything but traditional, but we are living in times that are very untraditional. We are incredibly blessed to have experienced it that way. I’ve waited all my life to get married and become a mother and now it was all happening at the same time and so fast. As you can imagine, emotions (and hormones!!!) were running high.

Fall came quick and I gave birth to our beautiful darling girl; Eleanor Rose, on October 21, 2024. I will share my birth story and motherhood journey in a separate blog post. In short, our lives changed forever, overnight. Giving birth and having a baby is a feeling that is hard to explain in words. You can’t quite understand it until you experience it for yourself. You snap your fingers and you are madly in love with this tiny human you created.

Getting married and having a baby all in the same year was the BEST thing that happened to me. I never knew this kind of happiness, love, and joy could exist. It’s been healing in more ways than I could have imagined. One of my favorite quotes from my husband’s vows was his “promise to never lose the spark in our relationship”. When you find the right partner – you make a good team – and there is nothing you can’t do – together. The spark becomes a flame, the flame becomes fire.
